Post-doctoral Scholars in Biochemistry
What is a post-doctoral scholar?
Post-doctoral scholars already have PhD degrees and research experience from their years as graduate students. Post-doctoral positions allow scholars to expand their research horizons, foster their independence, and publish their research findings. The post-doctoral years serve as stepping stones to the next stages of the scholars' careers.
What do post-doctoral scholars do in our Dept.?
Our Dept. supports an active community of post-doctoral scholars, who play an important role in advancing research in faculty labs. Such scholars receive further research training under the direction of faculty, publish research results, participate in the Biochemistry seminar series, and often supervise graduate and summer students.
