Biosystems 4700 Proteomics Discovery System
Instrument time refers to the laser time and the instrument operation
time.
Sample preparation time includes sample spotting, de-salting, extra data interpretation etc.
Users who perform their own sample spotting and data analysis pay only for the intrument time.
Examples
MS analysis:
up to 5-8 samples (depending on sample purity and concentration):
0.5hr for instrument calibration and sample analysis
0.5hr for sample spotting

MSMS analysis:
1 minute to perform MS/MS scan of 1-2 precursors
(5 samples x 2 trials x 5 precursors each = 50 - 100 minutes)
Calibration of MSMS mode requires 1 hr.
Additional notes
* For the first time internal users, a complimentary MS analysis of two samples is available.
* For a high volume of samples, a discount is available. Please, contact the Facility manager.
